About WokeWeek
Welcome to Woke Week, your guide to staying up to date on cultural issues and not getting left behind in the social justice race. We're here to break down the cultural shifts and explain them in a language even your grandma could understand. Our mission is to empower those with good intentions but a lack of knowledge on the latest social justice and equality developments. With our informed commentary and empathetic analysis, we'll help you navigate the ever-changing world of being “woke.” So come along and join us as we explore the most pressing issues of our time and work towards a more equitable future for all, or at least for the ones who care enough to make a difference.
As a teenager who's all about self-expression and letting people live life their way, I've noticed a major communication gap when it comes to the concept of "wokeness." It's excellent to see more people using this term to show they're down for social justice, but it's also becoming a source of drama. Some folks judge others without really understanding their perspectives, and that's just a major roadblock to real change.
This lack of empathy and patience is frustrating to see, especially when I think about all the hard work people like my parents have put in to promote equality and inclusivity. They've been at it for decades, but I still hear them say things in conversation that would get them canceled by Gen-Z. So, I teamed up with my dad to create WokeWeek. Our mission? To bridge the generation gap, help folks like my parents understand this ever-changing world and spread more understanding and compassion around social change.
